See Yourself from the Eyes of the Other Person

In a recent conversation with a friend about the insecurities that come up in relationships, I was reminded of a practice that I had started a few months ago. This practice started when I realized there were times that I was not seeing my own value, worth or the sense of accomplishment that others see in me.

This was a tough place fro me to be in. I knew that others had high regard for me for many different reasons, but it was not until I started to see myself from the perspective of the other person that I started to have a new sense of value for myself, my passions and how I contribute to the relationships that I am in.

Have you ever thought of why is that person so interested in getting connected to me or getting to know me?

If you were to take a point and see yourself from that person’s eyes, how would they see me? What would they see as my good qualities? Why would they want to have me in their life?

Allow yourself to sit in this feeling for a little while and get familiar with it. It is the feeling that you know that you may have been avoiding for a while but it is time to embrace how worthy and valuable you are of everything that you receive.

Isn’t it so great to know that you really are that wonderful?

What type of excuses stop you from attaining the Success you know you able to achieve?

In business we usually develop our strategic plan with our goals and objectives that help to guide us to achieve our success. If you don’t have this strategic plan, I do hope you have some kind of road map that is guiding you towards the path of what you are intending to achieve. We have only heard one too many times that “If you don’t know where you are going, you won’t know when you get there,” or something along that line.

If you were to imagine where you see your business/career, where would that be?

Now think about and write down all your excuses for getting there? We all know that we make these excuses. Write down each and every one.

As you reread your list, pretend those are someone else’s excuses. What would you say to them if they told you that is why they are not doing what they know they can achieve.

Listen to the advice you are giving them and apply it to your self.

Now go and achieve the success you are meant to achieve.

Engaged and Motivated in your Business life?

As I sit here at a coffee shop, I am extremely grateful for the fact that I live a lifestyle that allows me to do what I love when I want. I wear many hats and people always remark “Wow, you are busy.” My response back is always the same, it sounds that way but I truly enjoy what I do.

I have created a lifestyle where my different hats are intermixed and support one another. In reality I don’t really feel like I am working most of the time. I am able to use my creative tools in different projects so that I am constantly engaged. I also have created life long friendships with whom I attend events with. This supports me in having balance as we end the night off with dinner or drink.

It is such a pleasure for me to wake up in the morning to be excited about what I will be learning that day or who I am meeting that day. I get to help people fulfill their dreams and it is the best feeling in the world.

I have learnt much through my business career both working at University of British Columbia and as an entrepreneur. I have been able to apply different tools and skills to make situations work for me.

Now I would like to share them with you so that you are able to feel a deeper level of satisfaction in your business and career. I want others to love spending their days doing what they love, building positive relationships and being wealthy.

Book Review – The Go Giver

A few months ago I was gifted the book – The Go Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann. I decided that yesterday I would start reading this book, well I got so into it (plus it is a quick read) I was finished by the end of the night.

The Go Giver is based on a story of how a man learns to show up in the world. Through different experiences he is taught the “Trade Secret.” I strongly suggest reading the story but I will share the 5 Laws discussed in the book.

The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success

1. The Law of Value - Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

2. The Law of Compensation - Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

3. The Law of Influence – Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

4. The Law of Authenticity - The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

5. The Law of Receptivity - The key to effective giving is stay open to receiving.

How can you apply these principles in your life?
